Harriet Beecher Stowe House – Cincinnati - Built in 1833 by Lane Seminary, Harriet Beecher Stowe House served as the residence of the president of the seminary Dr. Lyman Beecher, father of Harriet Beecher Stowe. Much of Harriet’s stay in Cincinnati was spent in this house where she learned of the evils of slavery and was inspired to write “Uncle Tom’s Cabin.” The Stowe House now operates as an education center promoting black history. Fort Meigs - Perrysburg - One of the largest log forts in America, Fort Meigs was built in 1813 on the Maumee River to protect Ohio and Indiana from British invasion. Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and The RainForest - Founded in 1882, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is one of the largest and oldest zoos in the US.
